Before you can start training to become a driving instructor in the UK, there are certain legal and personal requirements you must meet:
You must be at least 21 years old.
You must have held a full UK or EU driving licence for at least three years.
You must have fewer than six points on your driving licence.
You must pass an enhanced DBS (criminal record) check.
You must have good eyesight that meets the minimum requirements for driving.

You will need an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to prove you are suitable to work with the public.
Register with the DVSA
Once your DBS check is complete, you can apply to become a Potential Driving Instructor (PDI) by registering with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).
Complete the ADI Qualification Tests
To become an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI), you must pass the Theory Test,Theory Test and Instructional Ability Test
Optional: Apply for a Trainee Licence (PDI Badge)
